We are in the age of information. Innovations in information technology have made significant impacts on every aspect of our daily living, from business models, shopping strategies, payment methods to entertainment and social media. It is also an era of explosion of information. A click in the internet exposes us to limitless data but information is certainly not equivalent to knowledge.

This is particularly difficult in the medical field where advances are made every now and then. Very often, more than one management options are available nowadays. The choice has to be individualised to tailor the patients’ special need and hence thorough discussion with the doctor(s) in charge is important. It is natural that many patients and their family members would like to search for more information before or after a consultation.
